Welcome to the 2007 Farm Map! This farm map is a listing of farms in Thurston County that sell their goods directly to consumers. It’s a tool for making that direct connection; to help you find products grown, raised and made by your neighbors. Like any tool, its usefulness is enhanced by familiarity. We suggest that you pin it up in your kitchen or keep it in your car and use it whenever possible. How to Use the Farm Map Please keep in mind that this is not meant to be a sightseeing guide! 1 Think about what you want to purchase, then refer to the Seasonality Guide inside. (Availability can vary by as much as two weeks depending on weather.) 2 Open the guide all the way until you are looking at the map and farm listings. 3 Check the Product Guide for farms that carry the products you want, then see listings for details and the map for general locations. 4 Please note the farm’s hours of operation and call the farms before visiting, as farmers are busy folks. They will appreciate serious inquiries, and are usually happy to set up appointments. 5 Tell farms that you saw them in the farm map! 6 Use your farm map often, and pass extras along to friends or places where they will get picked up! “Recall that whatever lofty things you might accomplish today, you will do them only because you first ate something that grew out of dirt.” —Barbara Kingsolver, The Essential Agrarian Reader to all the generous, community-minded businesses and organizations that
